A Short Explanation

The drills on this page are a collection of borrowed, adapted and original drills. My descriptions are designed to provide improved visual references, clear descriptions of the basic drills, various ways to enhance the drills, and points of focus. Depending upon your own implementation or adaptations, the age parameters may shift.

Drills and games have been categorized for your convenience. Many can be found in multiple categories, but remember the following: although a drill may be used to emphasize more than one thing, stick to one point of emphasis each practice.

When creating a practice, start by isolating the skill or tactic and then move to drills/games that allow the players the opportunity to practice the skill or tactic in game-like situations. I always like to end a practice by letting the kids play small sided games.
